From People-Pleaser to Inner Peace: Anna’s 5-Month Coaching Journey

“I used to feel guilty saying no. Now I pause, check in with myself, and answer in a way that respects my energy. That’s huge for me.”

When Anna first reached out to me, she was exhausted—not physically, but emotionally. A kind, capable, ambitious woman who had lost herself in perfectionism, anxiety, people-pleasing, and the loud hum of negative self-talk.

Over the course of five months (we extended her coaching from the original three), we worked together on retraining her brain and reshaping her wellbeing through the power of neuroplasticity and consistent support.

Today, Anna shares her story—what it was like before coaching, what helped her shift, and what she wants others to know if they see themselves in her shoes.

“I was stuck in my head. I didn’t know how to get out.”

“I was constantly overthinking. I didn’t feel good enough, even though I was doing well on the outside. I didn’t have boundaries. I was saying yes to everyone but myself.”

Anna came into coaching carrying what so many people carry: low self-esteem wrapped in competence. She was successful, reliable, and always “on”—but inside, she felt like she was failing. Anxiety and imposter syndrome were daily companions.

“I was tired of trying to ‘fix’ it by myself. I needed someone to help me see things differently—and to actually change them.”

Coaching That Walks With You—Literally

One thing Anna loved about our work together was our walking sessions.

“Doing sessions while walking made it feel lighter. It helped me think more clearly. Sometimes just moving while I talked allowed things to sink in deeper.”

Incorporating movement and nature into our sessions is a powerful way to support neuroplasticity. Our brains change more easily when we feel safe, present, and engaged—not stuck behind a screen.

“Even outside of our sessions, I started using walks to calm my anxiety and reset. It became my go-to tool.”

Rewiring Through Neuroplasticity

We focused heavily on rewiring Anna’s brain—one thought, habit, and belief at a time. That included:

  • Daily practices to regulate her nervous system
  • Assignments that gently interrupted old thinking patterns
  • New internal scripts to replace self-criticism
  • Boundaries—first in theory, then in practice
  • Consistent, personalised support between sessions

“I didn’t realise how much I was bullying myself in my own mind. You helped me build a new voice—one that’s calmer, softer, and actually helpful.”

The beauty of neuroplasticity is that the brain wants to change. With the right inputs and repetition, new patterns start to stick—and old ones fade.

The Turning Point

“Around month three, something clicked. I realised the critical voice in my head wasn’t actually me. And I didn’t have to listen to it anymore.”

That moment was pivotal. From there, Anna began responding instead of reacting. She learned to pause, reflect, and choose more nourishing ways of thinking and behaving. She was no longer at the mercy of her anxiety.

“I started treating myself like someone I actually care about. That felt weird at first… but now it feels normal.”

Boundaries That Feel Like Freedom

Boundaries were one of Anna’s biggest growth edges. At the start, she associated them with guilt. Now?

“They feel empowering. I don’t say yes automatically. I check in. I have space to breathe and be myself again.”

Boundaries aren’t walls—they’re doors that you get to open and close, based on what serves you. And Anna now has the tools and confidence to use them with clarity and kindness.

Quieting the Imposter

“I still hear that imposter voice sometimes, but I don’t believe it anymore. I have evidence now. I know who I am and what I’ve done. I trust myself.”

Coaching helped Anna shift from “I’m not good enough” to “I belong here.” That’s not about ego—it’s about inner alignment.

And that shift didn’t come from big dramatic actions. It came from consistent, supported rewiring—daily micro-practices that added up to major change.

Her Advice to You

“If you see yourself in any of this, please know: you’re not broken. You’re not alone. And you don’t have to keep fighting yourself.”

“This process changed everything for me—how I think, how I speak to myself, how I move through life. And it’s not because I became a different person. It’s because I came back to who I really am.”

From Louiza

Working with Anna was an absolute joy. Her openness, her willingness to be uncomfortable, and her commitment to herself made all the difference.

This is what brain and wellbeing coaching is about:
Not perfection.
Not “fixing” yourself.
But learning to lead your life from a calm, clear place, with your nervous system, mind, and energy working with you instead of against you.
